you're looking for on this page.
Q: Does the software help us meet ISO or
QS requirements?
A: Yes, the software has been designed
around helping companies meet or exceed these calibration requirements.
Q: I have a lot of gages that are very
similar to each other. Is there a way to copy the information from one gage to
another without having to retype everything?
A: We have a clone gage feature built
into the system that will copy all gage information except for the calibration
histories to a new gage.
Q: How much disk space will the database
take up?
A: This varies quite a bit depending on a
number of factors, but the approximate space requirements is
100 MB per 1,000 Gages (assuming
that you want maintain 5 years of calibration, GR&R and usage history).
Q. I want to use the same calibration
standards for more than one gage, but I have already entered all of the
information in for each gage, is there a way to copy just the calibration
standards?
A: ProGAGE has this feature built into
the system, so that you can copy calibration standards from any gage to a
different one.
Q. Why do I always have to retype in my
calibration standards? When I calibrate a gage I already put them in the last
time so why doesn’t the software remember my last setup?
A: If you want your calibration standards
to automatically show up in the Calibration screen, then they must be set up in
the Gage Master screen under Standards, then they will show up every time you
recalibrate the gage.
Q: I like the reports you have in the
system, but I want a different field to print on a report, can this be done?
A: We offer an optional report designer
module that will allow you to customize our existing reports, and even give you
the power to create your own. If you choose, we can make the modification for
you, but there will be a charge for that.
Q: We have facilities outside the US, do
you support any other languages?
A: Currently we do not support multiple
languages by default, but with the label editor module, you can change any of
the field names to different words or languages.
Q: We have a lot of gages that we want to
issue to one location at one time, is there a way to do that in ProGAGE?
A: We offer a module called Kits and
Fixtures that allows you to issue multiple gages to one location at one time. This can save you a lot of time and effort. We also support the calibration of all of those gages at
one time, again saving you time and effort.
Q: I want to print calibration stickers
for my gages from your system, will any label printer work?
A: No, we have to build in the correct
drivers and formats into our system, currently we support the Brother models
PT-PC, 2500 PC and 9200 printers.
Q: I have some old gages and calibrations
in my system from over 5 years ago. Can I just delete them out of the system?
A: You can delete them, but we recommend
that you use our archive feature that will move the old gages and/or
calibration records to a different table. This will make sure that just in case
you need them later, you have access to those records. It’s always recommended
that you backup your database file before archiving or deleting a large number
of records.
Q: Is there a way to let the software
know who is calibrating a gage, so that I do not have to fill in the Calibrated
By field every time?
A: By setting up the Security feature in
ProGAGE, the system will automatically fill in your name as the calibrator,
decreasing the amount of time needed to enter calibrations, as well as the
likelihood of mistakes.
Q: I just downloaded the software from
your website and now it is asking me for an “Extraction Code”. What
is this used for?
A: The extraction code is used to control
software updates and upgrades for our customers.
When you contact us for this code, we track which version you are upgrading to so that we can better
serve you if you need support. We
also use this code for 30-day trial demos. That way we know who is evaluating
our software and can better help them learn about all the features and
benefits.
Q: I can’t remember my password and now I
can’t run the software. Can you let me know how to get it running again?
A: Since security is important, please
contact our Technical Support Department so that we can verify you, your
company and validate your serial number. Once verified, we will provide you
with a “backdoor” username and password.
Q: The EOM (End-Of-month) box is checked
on the Gage Master Entry tab, but it does not seem to work. What
is the problem?
A: In order for the EOM month-end
rounding feature to correctly work, you must not have your calibration
frequency units set to “Months”.
For example, don’t set your calibration frequency to “2 Months”. Instead you should express it as
“60 Days”.
Q: I’d like to send you a copy of my
database file to examine it for problems. What is the best way to get it to
you?
A: We have set up a special FTP site on
the web so that customers can send us large files electronically. This is much
faster and more efficient than trying to send large files via email.
Also, on many corporate email systems, limits are set up to prevent sending emails with large file
attachments. The FTP site gets around this problem.
To upload your file to us, do the following:
1.
Run your web browser and link to ftp://69.20.55.202/
2.
Logon with User name = AQS, leave the Password blank.
3.
Create a folder with you company name (right click and choose New > Folder)
4.
Copy and paste your file into your company folder (i.e., run a copy of Windows Explorer, find your
file, right-click and choose Copy. Then return back to the Internet browser
window, right-click on your company folder and choose Paste).
Q: How do I setup ProGAGE on Terminal
Server.
A:
You should be logged on the Terminal Server machine as the
Local Administrator or asDomain
Administrator when you install ProGAGE ISO. Leave the Terminal Server in
Execute Mode (the normal mode for the Terminal Server machine to run
applications), rather than in Install Mode. To confirm mode, go to a command
prompt and type in "change user /query". To put the system into
execute mode, enter "change user /execute".
Installing ProGAGE ISO on Terminal Server is similar to installing the
application on stand-alone system. Please refer to Chapter 1 of the System
Administrator’s Guide section of the Users' Manual for details.
Once installed, it will now be available for all users of
the machine. They will have access to ProGAGE ISO and will have ProGAGE
icons on the desktop/start menu whether they use the product or not.
Q: How do I uninstall
ProGAGE on Terminal Server.
A: Uninstalling ProGAGE ISO in Terminal Server is accomplished
through the Add/Remove Programs section in Control Panel. This will remove the
product for all users of the Terminal Server.
